After months of construction, Victoria's first laser tag arena opens Thursday to the public.

Laser World, a 5,000-square-foot building on East Larkspur Lane near the Victoria Mall, features a multilevel Peruvian jungle-themed arena that offers more than a few extras to please any member of the family.

Laser World owners, Victoria doctors Dante Garza, 48, and Jim Brand, 63, themed the multiuse building after the earth, water, wind and fire elements, which is carried through the building on each level.

Laser tag equipment, including guns and vests, were special ordered from the United Kingdom to ensure each game provides a top-of-the-line quality experience for all ages.

The arena also features the Elements Cafe, which serves pizza, nachos, ice cream, soft drinks and other snack items.

In addition to laser tag games, Laser World offers arcade games, 4-D theater with simulated rides and short movies and six party rooms to rent for birthdays and other special occasions.

An observation tower was installed for parents or visitors to watch games without participating.

Thursday's grand opening will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with a live radio remote by our sister station KIXS 108 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All are invited to attend.
