Dallas hasn't been kind to the Victoria Generals lately, as the team dropped another game to the Texas Marshals 8-1 last night. On Tuesday night, the Generals lost to the Marshals in a game that was shortened by a problem with the lights at Jesuit High School.

The Marshals jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning off of Generals starting pitcher Zac Vasek.  Vasek then settled in, not allowing another run over the next four innings.  Vasek finished the night with six strikeouts in five innings, but took the loss.

Keaton Brewer shutout the Generals offense in his seven innings on the night as he allowed just two hits and five walks while striking out five.

The Generals finally pushed a run across in the top of the eighth inning on a Jacob Hubert RBI single off of Marshals relief pitcher Tyler Parmenter to score David Paiz, Jr.

The Marshals answered with three runs off of Generals relief pitcher Armando Arevalo in the bottom half of the eighth and went onto win 8-1.

With the loss, the Generals fall to 28-29 overall and 11-16 in the second-half.  The Marshals improve to 19-39 overall and 10-18 in the second-half.

The Generals return home to host the Woodlands Strykers on tonight and tomorrow night at Riverside Stadium in the final two home games of the regular season.  Both games will start at 7:05pm.

Tonight is the final Thirsty Thursday of the season.  Draft beer will be $1 all game long on the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Party Deck.

Go Generals!
