The Victoria Generals have had a hard time against the Brazos Valley Bombers so far this season, that is until last night. The Bombers were ahead of the Generals 8-6 going into the 9th inning, but the Generals made it a 6-run inning, beating the Bombers 12-8.

The Bombers have had the Generals number in Texas Collegiate League play so far this season, winning their first 5 matchups, but last night in Bryan, the Generals got the bats going with a double by Jude Vidrine, a single by Kevin Daniels, a hit-by-pitch that put Brandon Tierney on base, and a walk by Trace Knoblauch that put the Generals 1 run from a tie at 8-7.  Alex Klonowski and Patrick Duncan added a couple more hits, there were a few errant throws and a walk given up by the Bombers that helped the Generals pick up the extra runs.

Dallas Ponder notched the win in relief for the Generals, striking out 6 along the way, and giving him his 2nd win of the season. The Generals are now 13-8, and the Bombers are 14-7. Next up for the Generals, another game tomorrow night in Bryan against the Bombers.  The team returns home Friday night to take on the Cane Cutters.
