The Victoria Generals were ahead 5-0 early in Texas Collegiate League baseball action last night, but the Texas Marshals rallied to put up 8 runs, and by the time it was all said and done, the Generals lost one on the road.

The Generals put up three runs in the first inning off Marshals starting pitcher Keaton Brewer. J.D. Stinnett tripled and scored on an error by the Marshals catcher, and  Jace Reese delivered an RBI double to score Romeo Cortina, who got on base with a walk.   Reese would come into score on an RBI double by David Paiz, Jr.

Jacob Hubert hit a solo home run, his second of the year, in the top of the second inning. J.B. Moss reached base on an error and came into score on another to make it 5-0 Generals.

The Marshals responded with two runs in the second inning and four in the third off of Generals starting pitcher Matt McClain to take a 6-5 lead. They added two more runs in the seventh inning off of relief pitcher Chase Angelle to make it 8-5.

The Generals left runners on base in all but one inning during the game and had a total of 12 men left stranded.

With the loss, the Generals fall to 14-10 on the season and the Marshals improve to 8-16.

The Generals will continue onto Bryan tonight to take on the Brazos Valley Bombers in the first game of a two-game series.  The matchup with feature the top two teams in the TCL standings.
