The Acadiana Cane Cutters scored early, and stayed on top of the Victoria Generals last night at Riverside Stadium, and when it was all said and done, the Cutters beat the Generals 3-1.

The Cane Cutters scored first in the top of the first inning on an RBI double by Chance Vincent off of Generals starting pitcher Matt McClain. But that would be all McClain would give up on the night, going six innings, giving up six hits, and throwing eight strikeouts.

The Generals tied the game up in the 3rd as Frank Cloutier walked, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a wild pitch.

The Generals had two great chances to score with the go ahead run on third base with less than two outs in the 7th and 8th, but were unable to push a run across.

The Game would remain tied until the 9th.  Kyle Keller took the loss for the Generals, allowing two runs on two hits with four strikeouts.

With the loss, the Generals fall to 8-4 on the season and the Cane Cutters improve to 5-7.

The Generals will travel to Dallas today to take on the Texas Marshals in the first game of a two games series.
