The Victoria Generals fought back to tie the East Texas Pump Jacks 2-2, but couldn't put the finishing touch on the game, allowing the Pump Jacks to pull out a 3-2 win.

Trailing 2-0 after two innings of play, the Generals cut the Pump Jacks lead in half on a Drew Featherston RBI single in the fourth inning to score Frank Cloutier.

The Generals tied things up in the sixth inning as Hayden Vesely scored on an RBI fielder’s choice by Jacob Hubert.

Kyle Keller got his first start of the season for the Generals and tossed 4.2 innings on the night, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts. Chase Angelle took the loss, giving up just one run in 3.1 innings with one strikeout.

Vesely was the only General to record more than one hit in the game, going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

With the loss, the Generals fall to 17-12 on the season and the Pump Jacks improve to 14-15.

The two teams will meet again for game two of the series at 7:05pm at Driller Park in Kilgore on tonight, marking the final game of the first-half of the Texas Collegiate League season.
