This one could be one for the Guinness Book, when guitarist Steve Vai and the Berklee School of Music attempt to set the World's Record for the largest online guitar lesson ever taught. Steve Vai, a guitar virtuoso by anyone's measure, is an alum of the Berklee School, and he feels music education is an important aspect in anyone's life, and inspiration is the key. Vai says that encouraging guitarists to pick up their instrument,  and to "learn the freedom that comes from celebrating the creative side of your humanity."

The lesson takes place Thursday, March 3rd at 12:30pm CST.  Spinal Tap's Nigel Tuffnel had some thoughts on the event.

Here's Steve himself.

As a sometime guitarist, I am an awe watching a guy like Steve play, although it does make me feel like maybe I should stop at air guitar. Oh well, nothing wrong with dreaming, right?
