This past weekend, the Marine Corps Reserves and Victoria Police Department were on hand at the Gazebo in Deleon Plaza to hand out toys collected in this year's Toys for Tots drive. I'm proud to say it was a big success and they were able to help out about 1,500 families in the Crossroads area this Christmas.

That equates to about 3,000 children. Each getting AT LEAST 2 toys each. That's awesome!! I saw plenty of collection boxes around town at many locations and for the most part, they remained empty so naturally I thought it was going to be a tough year. However, here at the station we had a collection box that had to be emptied 3 times. Just goes to show KLUB Rock listeners know how to step up! And I greatly appreciate it!

This year, Toys for Tots teamed up with Victoria Police Department's Blue Santa program and passed out gifts over the weekend in downtown.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you Victoria for helping to give less fortunate kids a reason to smile this Christmas!
