Any homeowner with a recent termite infestation will tell you that termites do not discriminate when it comes to feeding time.

A bank in India learned this the hard way after a herd of termites infiltrated their otherwise secure establishment and devoured over 10 million rupees ($220,000) from their own stash.

According to Officer Navneet Rana, termites had been a problem in the bank before. Only instead of destroying valuable cash, they snacked on furniture and documents.

The 10 million rupees were put in a bank chest in January and the situation is still under investigation. Officer Rana says police have since registered a case of negligence against the Northern India bank.
