From Soundgarden to Audioslave, and great solo material, he knows how to give a song the emotion and passion it deserves.  Check out this video of Chris performing "I Will Always Love You"  as a tribute to Whitney Houston in San Francisco last week. It's just Chris with an acoustic guitar, but the performance is powerful.
