The Victoria Generals are looking for a new Head Coach, following the resignation of Chris Clemons, who is moving up to the big leagues. The 3-yr Generals Head Coach has accepted a job as an area scout for the Chicago Cubs of the National League. Clemons has also stepped down from his post as assistant coach at McLennan Community College in order to accept a new position.

Even though The Victoria Generals were only one game short of winning the 2012 Texas Collegiate League Championship, they didn't come up short when it came to the voting for the league’s end-of-the-year awards, with 3 Generals named to the 2012 All-TCL Team.

Head coaches from around the league voted Jordan Pacheco, Chad Kruse, and Jude Vidrine to this year's All-TCL Team.

The Victoria Generals are facing a 3rd game against the East Texas Pump Jacks tonight, following a 7-4 loss last night to even the series at 1-1.

After winning the first game of the TCL Championship Series on Monday night in Victoria 5-3, the Generals traveled to Kilgore last night and came up short in game two against the East Texas Pump Jacks. The two teams will meet for the decisive third game tonight in Kilgore for the 2012 Texas Collegiate League Championship.

Victoria Generals Win First in Best-of-Three Championship Series

The Victoria Generals are one step closer to the Texas Collegiate League Championship, after beating the Texas Pump Jacks 5-3 last night at Riverside Stadium. Ace pitcher Jordan Pacheco kept the game under control, giving up just one hit early, then managing to keep the Pump Jacks from scoring for six straight innings. Covey Morrow came on in the eighth inning in relief of Pacheco and struggled as he gave up two runs on three hits to cut the lead to 5-3. Tanner Green then relieved Morrow and picked up the final out of the inning on a come-backer that he fielded himself and tossed to first base.

It took extra innings for the Victoria Generals to pull off what would be a walk-off 8-7 win over the Brazos Valley Bombers, and into the Texas Collegiate League Championship Series.
With one out in the bottom of the 11th inning of Sunday night's opening game of the TCL playoffs, Ryan Guedry delivered a single to left-field to score Eric Weiss from second base and give the Generals the win, propelling them into the TCL Championship Series.

After losing 4 in a row on the road, The Victoria Generals managed to split a doubleheader with the Woodlands Strykers at Riverside Stadium last night. The Generals won game one 2-0 behind a complete game shutout by Jordan Pacheco. The Strykers won the night cap 2-1.

In game one, Pacheco had an outstanding outing, allowing just four hits while striking out eight batters on his way to the complete game victory, the Generals first of the season. The win improved Pacheco's record to 5-1. His five wins and 42 strikeouts on the season are both tied for the league lead.
The Generals scored a run in the second inning on Carter Mangum's double to right field to score Trace Knoblauch.

Although I grew up in a city with a Major League team, we didn't have anything like the Victoria Generals. How cool is it that we can see some of the best potential Major Leaguers play, right in our own back yard? How awesome would it be for a kid that loves baseball to get schooled from some great talent? That's what it's all about this Saturday at the Victoria Generals Summer Baseball Camp.
