The Jerry Sandusky scandal at Penn State had many innocent victims. First and foremost are the young boys abused by Sandusky, then there are the current and future Penn State players and students who will suffer for years under the weight of the NCAA punishments. And now you can add Neil Diamond to the casualty list.

The official announcement is expected to come Saturday, but sources report that the deal is done and that O’Brien will officially resume his new role as soon as the Patriots season is over.

This has been an ongoing problem for possibly ten years and numerous high ranking individuals have either witnessed, heard about, or even suspected what was going on under the Joe Paterno regime.  It's  truly a sad way for Paterno to end his career.  Sad is probably not the right word, tragic is a better description., but it's even more tragic for Penn State University students and alumni.  It’s a mark the university will carry for a long time and will most likely never fully recover from.
