Tom Cruise and science fiction are a powerful combination. Although the opening weekend of 'Oblivion' didn't break any records big or small, it's a more than solid start for a non-franchise, non-sequel, non-reboot. That's a sad statement on the current state of Hollywood, but that's another topic for another day.

Epic summer movies are one of our favorite parts of summertime: lots of action, explosions, sci-fi, and of course: epic trailers with epic soundtracks. That's why we are stoked that 'Oblivion' comes out today.

If you're looking to check out a movie in Victoria this weekend, I have good news and bad news. Of the two new  releases opening this weekend, only one will be playing at Cinemark 12, but at least it's the more anticipated of the two, although the other, a smaller, darker crime picture, does look pretty interesting.
