'Scream 4' might have failed to carve out any real attempt at reinvigorating the franchise, with its relatively poor box office performance and moderate critical reception, but that isn't stopping MTV from taking another stab at it. Almost one year after the rumors first began to bleed out, we've learned that MTV has given an official pilot order to a potential 'Scream' TV series, including an offer for horror master Wes Craven to direct! The 2013 MTV Movie Awards winners, though by no means as hyped as, say, the 2013 Oscars, are a fun affair nonetheless. Most of the awards, with exceptions to the "specialty" categories, are voted on by the fans, which means many of the titles that got snubbed during awards season now have another chance for the recognition many believe they deserve.
Very late last night brought the news that MTV's 'Buckwild' would officially halt production, canceling the series after the tragic accident that took the life of 21-year-old star Shain Gandee and two others via carbon monoxide poisoning. Today MTV has issued its official statement on the matter, with plans to aid a special dedicated to Gandee this Sunday, but producer J.P. Williams had some harsh words for the cable network over the cancellation of MTV's 'Buckwild.'
Yesterday brought the bizarre and tragic news that 21 year-old 'Buckwild' star Shain Gandee had been found dead after 31 hours missing, along with his uncle and a third unidentified male inside an off-road truck. The truck's position within the muddy woods initially made the bodies difficult to retrieve, but the circumstance and autopsy results have conclusively revealed the three died of carbon monoxide poisoning, says the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Since 1981, MTV has been a taste-maker, influencing teens and tweens in the ways of music, fashion, movies and social awareness. MTV has announced its next MTV Movie Awards host, and they did so in a most unusual way. Last night during the 'Jersey Shore' series finale (which you surely watched intently), the network aired an announcement commercial featuring Hollywood's "it" girl, Rebel Wilson. Watch the amusing ad after the break!
Clearly hoping to cash in on the hype surrounding TLC's 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,' MTV has given its 'Jersey Shore' time-slot to a new show about a bunch of rowdy, under-educated backwoods teenagers from West Virginia. Watch the promo right here!
Seriously, this is great no matter what era you're stuck in. Zombies rock. Vincent Price was flawless too. Enjoy this video blast from the past.
Stars are paid by designers all the time to endorse and wear certain clothes. But this may be the first time we’ve heard of someone being paid not to a brand’s apparel. Seems retailer Abercrombie & Fitch is no fan of ‘Jersey Shore,’ and even less a fan of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino — so much so that they’ve offered him cold hard cash to stop wearing their clothes on camera.
It's been four years since Evanescence had a new album for their fans, but the wait is almost over -- and singer Amy Lee has dropped a few hints as to what we can expect.
MTV dropped in on Lee at her Nashville studio recently, and they discussed the new, self-titled album -- scheduled for an October 11 release -- as well as its lead single, 'What You Want.' According to Lee, the writing process is much more natural this time around.

According to the report, the accident occurred at around 3AM at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. Dunn was in the vehicle with an unidentified person – who was also killed – though no word yet on who was actually driving the car.
