An all-star collection of talent from across the musical spectrum will pay tribute to Levon Helm of the Band, who died on April 19 following a lengthy bout with cancer. “Love for Levon” will take place at the IZOD Center in E. Rutherford, N.J. on Oct. 3.
The Allman Brothers Band closed a 10-night residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on Sunday night, and were forced to play parts of two of those shows without frontman and founder Gregg Allman. Allman walked off stage in pain on Saturday night and was taken to a local hospital.
Next to Keith Richards, Gregg Allman is one name that comes to mind when you think of the well- weathered rock and roll cats who somehow managed to beat the odds even though it seems like they used up their allotted nine lives many times over.
