Shows like ’Family Matters’, ‘Wings’ and ‘Mad About You’ had a certain panache that was just so right for the time: the enthusiastic laugh track, the exaggerated physical comedy and the raspy sax rock theme song all came together in a comforting, consistent package.

Now, thanks to the power of editing, we’ve been given a glimpse at what ‘The Office’ might have looked like had it come out during that prime time (pun intended) for sitcoms. Check out the video below:
