I'm always impressed by good drummers. It's one of those instruments that I like to "air" to but, I know I could never play very well because of my superb lack of coordination. That's why it's so cool when you see a young kid that has a real talent for it. It's even more impressive because Avery Molek is only 8 years old. Cool!
This is truly mind-blowing. A professor at the Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology, who has built robotic musicians in the past, has created a piece of technology that can allow an amputee to play drums. In fact, the inventor himself claims that "the drummer essentially becomes a cyborg."
Sure, the song is a classic, and yes, the singer does her best to convey the feeling of the lyrics. But it is without a doubt, the drummer who makes this video one for all time.
Every great musician has to start somewhere, and usually the younger, the better. Check out these 2 kids from North Korea tearing it up on the drum kit. 2 drummers? Maybe they're going to start a North Korean version of The Allman Brothers Band.
DPRK is pleased to allow them a drum solo each.
