The Packers and Chiefs clinched division titles, and the Lions backed into the playoffs. Here’s a full recap of the action from Week 17 of the 2016 NFL season.:
Despite the fact that the Detroit Lions got off to a good start and went score for score against the league-leading Dallas Cowboys in the first half last night, the Cowboys had no trouble exhibiting their dominance in the 2nd, on their way to a decisive win on Monday Night Football...
Another area athlete will get a shot in the NFL as Halletsville Sacred Heart grad Cole Wick has signed on the dotted line with the Detroit Lions.
Wick, a tight end who was TAPPS All-State and Victoria Advocate All-Area, went on to University of Incarnate Word, where he averaged 17...
An NFC North upset and two routs were on the menu for the NFL’s Thanksgiving Day games. Here’s a recap of the day’s action:
A family from Amarillo took their 10 year-old son Roman to last weekend's football game at AT&T stadium between the Cowboys and Lions. The tickets were a surprise from Roman's grandma because he is a huge Detroit Lions fan.
NFL teams charge into the second half of the 2014 season this week. Several battles could shape the playoff picture. Here's a preview of this week's most interesting storylines:
Justin Tucker kicked six field goals, including a 61-yarder with 38 seconds to play, and the Baltimore Ravens beat the Lions, 18-16, in Detroit on Monday night.
Calvin Johnson had a monster season for the Detroit Lions. Forget monster, it was a record-breaking display. Johnson broke something else this season, besides the NFL receiving record -- he broke multiple fingers and still played.
If you're a Detroit Lions fan who is still desperately trying to forget about the team's dismal 2012 season, you should probably avoid the squad's official calender.
The trade of running back Jerome Harrison from the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles for running back Ronnie Brown was nullified after Harrison reportedly failed a physical earlier this week.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday that Harrison failed the physical because doctors found a brain tumor during the examination required to authorize the trade.
If you even mildly follow sports, you've heard about it, if not seen the video for yourself. Schwartz vs Harbough.
What's the big deal? Seriously...look at the video of Detroit Lion's head coach Jim Schwartz being "shoved out of the way" and tell me if anything looks abnormal and "fight worthy" about it. NOTHING. That's what you'll find.
This appears to be a COMPLETE overreaction on Schwartz's part. I mean, we can't hear what is being said between them, but it appears as though Harbough is being honest here.
He just got excited. He gave a hand shake and a back slap like he would a player...not a coach. If there's a problem, that's it. He didn't treat him like a coach. Is that really worthy of chasing him down the field, attempting to get up in his face? You decide. Watch the video here yourself.
