'Skyfall' is finally making its US debut this week, but it's already gone above and beyond at the UK box office. Since its October premiere overseas, the latest James Bond flick has surpassed the country's sales of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' and has blown away the last two Daniel Craig-led Bond films, and the hopes are even higher for its release here.

But what if our current 007 actor wasn't around to bask in the success of 'Skyfall' (or 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace,' for that matter)? Despite the film's successes, talk has recently shifted to Craig as he revealed that he -- how can we put this delicately? -- kind of hates portraying James Bond.

Earlier this week we learned some potentially huge James Bond news. A report circulated that 'Skyfall' screenwriter John Logan (who we know is returning for the series' next installment) had secretly plotted a two-part plot line for 'Bond 24' and '25,' which would be a rather major turn of events. Today, however, we're learning from 007 himself not to believe the hype.

James Bond movies have been thrilling audiences for years, and fans are just as excited for the 23rd installment 'Skyfall' to hit theaters as they were back in the days of 'Dr. No.' Needless to say, 007 is one of those characters that will live on long after we're all gone, but the franchise still faces the never-ending task of making this secret agent character and story line just as interesting to watch as the previous films.

This has partly been accomplished with the numerous actors portraying Bond -- Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Barry Nelson, Daniel Craig, etc. -- but are we now ready to see someone completely different take on the role? Are we ready to see a black James Bond?

Being that James Bond is one of those characters that will never go out of style, it came as no surprise to learn that we’d be getting another movie installment of the franchise in 2014. The real mystery, though, was Daniel Craig‘s involvement. At the time this news broke, it wasn’t yet clear if our current 007 would be assuming the role again in the future, but now we can all rest assured that we’ll definitely be seeing Craig all tuxed up and sipping a martini… or a Heineken.
