We barely know who the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' villain is (OK, well we pretty much know) - is it possible that at this early stage we've already got a pretty solid idea as to who the 'Star Trek 3' villain will be? Writer/producer Damon Lindelof spoke on the film's red carpet and dropped some information as to who will be facing off against in 'Star Trek 3.'

With J.J. Abrams off to start work on 'Star Wars: Episode 7' once he's done promoting 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' perhaps the veil of secrecy that surrounded 'Star Trek' will fall and we'll have more of an open dialogue as to what is going on behind the scenes (or at least less blatant lying about what's going on). To wit: Lindelof's recent comments at the 'Star Trek' premiere that strongly hint at who the bad guy(s) will be in 'Star Trek 3.' When asked if they already had plans for who the villain would be for the next sequel, Lindelof told HeyUGuys:

You can never see enough Klingons, and I think in this film we’ve given the audience a little taste, but there’s also a promise that there’s a larger conflict on the horizon, and that would be fun to see.

We showed you earlier this week what the Klingons look like in 'Star Trek Into Darkness' and they're such an important part of the universe, we can't imagine keeping them in the background for long. The Klingons were the main antagonists in 'Star Trek III: The Search for Spock' and if we're following a pattern between the bad guys in the original series of films and the bad guys in the new series, this would also seem to match up.

What do you think? Would you be happy to see a Klingon war in the next 'Star Trek' film? And if J.J. Abrams can't direct, who should take over for him?
