Slash has revealed the first dates for a 2012 U.S. tour in support of his upcoming sophomore solo album. The Guns N’ Roses guitar hero will be backed by singer Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators.

The tour kicks off May 3 in Baltimore, Md. and will feature an appearance at the weekend-long Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. Slash will also perform at two other festivals — May 5 at Carolina Rebellion and May 25 at Rocklahoma.

Slash’s as-yet-untitled second album is slated for a May 22 release on his own Dik Hayd International label. The effort is reportedly “much more cohesive” than his guest vocalist-heavy first solo album, partially as a result of being recorded with the same band that backed him on the tour in support of his debut.

It’s worth noting that these tour plans don’t start until well after the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 14. So even though Slash shot down reports he had RSVP’d for the event, and a potential on-stage reunion with former bandmate Axl Rose, he’s still free to do so if he wants to.

Tickets for Slash’s upcoming tour will be made available through a special fan -re-sale on Feb. 15 and to the general public on Feb. 17. You can get more information at his official website, SlashOnline.com.
