Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon are joining a wave of support for imprisoned Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. Blythe’s band previously played Ozzfest, becoming close to the first couple of heavy metal. He was arrested on June 27 in the Czech Republic.

“Please support former Ozzfest member Randy Blythe from @Lambofgodband. #FreeRandyBlythe,” Sharon Osbourne wrote late Monday night. Her husband retweeted. The @FreeRandyBlythe Twitter page is the hub for all updates on the case.

On Monday, Blythe was denied release from Czech custody after posting $200k bail. He was arrested for alleged manslaughter after a fan died one month after a 2010 Lamb of God show. The accusation is that Blythe pushed the 19-year-old fan from the stage, leading to his death. If convicted the singer could face five to 10 years in a Czech Republic jail. He’s awaiting a new court date where it will be decided if the terms of his bail will be amended.

The outpouring of support from fans and fellow rockers has been quick and powerful, with a fan rally taking place last Sunday in Richmond, Va. Blythe and the band were detained upon entering the Czech Republic last month. The other four members were set free, and instructed to leave the country. In the past two weeks the controversy has reached the White House, with an official petition to President Obama needing approximately 21K more signatures before Aug. 3.
