Frigid temperatures in El Paso caused the usual kinds of problems around the city, like the usual dead batteries, slippery roads and sidewalks, and a few broken pipes. Pretty standard fare. So, when plumbers were called to a condo to repair some pipes that had burst, what do you suppose they found?

Well, would you believe nearly 1 million dollars in cash? Workers found the money when they had to break inside a wall to get to the burst pipes, and were surprised by the "insulation."  District Attorney Jaime Esparza confirmed the money was indeed found, and an investigation to determine if it was stashed there legally, or if it's origin is tied to illegal activity.  Officials say large discoveries of cash are usually connected to drug trafficking in the border city.

The discovery certainly gives a whole new meaning to the term "cold, hard cash!"
