More Awards for Shiner Beer

I love me some Shiner beer. I quickly became a big fan once I had the pleasure of giving it a try. When I traveled around to visit family, I was disappointed that I couldn't find it anywhere else but Texas. I have always thought of Shiner Beer as one of the best I had ever tasted, and when it comes to recognition from elsewhere around the world, Shiner is getting it's due, with the Spoetzl Brewery being awarded again.

This time it's a gold medal won last week from the European Beer Star Awards in Nuremberg, Germany, one of the most prominent competitions in the world.

Shiner Bohemian Black Lager was the winner in the German Style Schwarzbier category. That's pretty special, when you consider that the brew was up against 1,366 beers submitted from 44 countries.

Here's to the best beer in Texas, and soon to be the world!
