Here's a story for you if you're in need of a good cry but don't feel like smashing your thumb with a hammer. One dog is so loyal to his owner, that he has continued to go to mass at the church where her funeral was held months ago. Still no tears? Read the details.

Tommy, a German Shepherd, was adopted as a stray by Maria Margherita Lochi of San Donaci, Italy. He repaid that kindness by being a well-behaved pet, so much so that Lochi could bring him to Mass every morning and he wouldn't disturb the rest of parishioners.

Sadly, Lochi died a couple months ago, and the funeral was held at the Santa Maria Assunta church she regularly attended. Tommy patiently watched the service and followed Lochi's coffin around the church.

Since the funeral he shows up every day when the bell rings for Mass, hoping his beloved friend comes back.

"I've not heard one bark from him in all the time he has been coming in," Father Donato Panna explained. "He waits patiently by the side of the altar and just sits there quietly. I didn't have the heart to throw him out -- I've just recently lost my own dog, so I leave him there until Mass finishes and then I let him out."

Still no tears? Fine. Watch this video of a dog who won't leave the side of his Navy Seals owner's casket, you heartless monster.
