Goodmorning, Gorgeous is heading to Hollywood.

The Victoria metalcore band is hoping to break into the music industry by beating the competition at a national battle of the bands event hosted by Sumerian Records.

The five-member band won two elimination rounds in San Antonio and Austin to earn the chance to compete in Hollywood. The big prize is the chance to sign a record deal with the Los Angeles-based music label, whose bands include Periphery, I See Stars and Asking Alexandria.

After surviving the first round of eliminations, the group opened for one of the All Star Tour shows in Houston at the House of Blues.

It started in January, when the band saw a post by Sumerian Records announcing a battle of the bands competition for a record label.  In September, the group moved on to the semi-finals in Austin, where Goodmorning, Gorgeous was one of two bands to move to the third round in Hollywood.

While the band members hail from Victoria, they don't all live in town, so rehearsing can be a challenge.

The band will practice their performance Friday at a metal band show at the Downtown Bar and Grill in Victoria. Before they hit Downtown Bar and Grill, he said the group will meet Thursday for rehearsal, take the stage in Victoria and then head to Yuma, Ariz., where they have a show Sunday. Then Tuesday, the band will hit Hollywood and leave it all on stage.

Tune in Friday at 8am, The guys from Goodmorning, Gorgeous will join yours truly in the studio to talk more about the competition and the future of the band.
