While much of the news from 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' this past week stemmed from star/writer Glenn Howerton's claims that season 10 would be the last we see of the Paddy's Pub gang, as well as Howerton's subsequent denial, we mustn't forget the season at hand debuting September 4 on FXX! So, what superheroic shenanigans will the gang get into this year, and what fan-favorite characters will return?

We've already managed to see the ninth season premiere "The Gang Broke Dee" from our trip to Comic-Con, and learned of both an upcoming Thanksgiving episode and further details of the 'Game of Thrones' writer-penned episode "Flowers for Charlie," but what other hijinks can we expect?

According to a chat with Zap2It, one episode of the coming season will see the gang isolate themselves in the bar to avoid a flu outbreak, while they train to audition as the a capella opening act for Boyz II Men, singing "Motown Philly." Naturally, this leads to Danny DeVito nude and slathered in Purell, but what doesn't?

As for the aforementioned Thanksgiving episode, the gang takes it on themselves to finally settle their many rivalries about town. "So like the Pilgrims and the Indians, we take Thanksgiving as an opportunity to squash our beef," said Howerton. Said squashing will involve the return of fan favorite characters Gail the Snail ('24''s Mary Lynn Rajskub) and Rickety Cricket (David Hornsby).

Finally, in perhaps the 'Sunny' plot nearest and dearest to our own hearts this season, "The Gang Saves the Day" will see the group in the midst of a convenience store robbery, wherein each goes into their fantasy worlds to see how they would save the day. "As far as the Dennis character goes, it's a little questionable," Howerton added, surprising no one.

Meanwhile, ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ season 9 also includes guest appearances from actor Seann William Scott, singer Josh Groban and ‘Breaking Bad‘ star Aaron Paul.

Well, what say you? Which of the 'Always Sunny' gang's season 9 adventures has you most eagerly anticipating the September 4 premiere on FXX?
