Looking for a really easy way to help support out troops? Donate some useful items this Saturday at the 8th Annual Gary's Care Packages Drive! The drive is this Saturday, November 3rd from 10am to 2pm at Grace Lutheran Church at 9806 Zac Lentz Parkway.

The annual drive is in honor of Gary Walters, a 32 yr old Victorian who gave his life in 2005 while defending our country. The drive is aimed at giving our troops a little taste of home, through donations of items they need, and would certainly enjoy having.

Some suggested hygiene items are razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, band aids, Neosporin, and moist wipes.

Snack items include peanut butter crackers, cheese nips, gum, hard candy, beef jerky, and peanuts.

Other useful items are batteries, cards, checkers, disposable cameras, stationery, pens & pencils, journals, small bibles, books, notes and pictures from home.

Items NOT to donate include perishable items, alcohol, tobacco, or pornography.

Monetary donations can really help pay for postage too, so that is needed as well. Aside from the drive on Saturday, donations will also be accepted through November 11th, and can be dropped off at Devereaux Gardens in Victoria and Goliad, and Chick-fil-A.

You may also direct your package to be sent to a specific soldier. Just email the proper postal information to garyscarepackages@yahoo.com.
