A federal appeals court has rejected a lawsuit as 'frivolous', filed by a Texas inmate who said he was being barred from practicing his religion, which is related to vampires. The 2-yr old suit was filed by inmate Courtney Royal against around 12 Texas prison administrators and officials at the Hughes unit.

Royal's 9-page single-spaced typewritten suit was rejected by the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The suit said Royal wanted to practice "West African spritualism and 18th century Catholocism." In the suit, Royal described himself as "Vampsh Black Sheep League of Doom Gardamum Family Circle Master Vampire High Priest."

Royal is serving a life sentence for numerous offenses, including aggravated assault, armed robbery and escape.
