That’s because Gruber stumbled into the proceeding while swigging on an open can of Busch beer. Gruber, who has prior DWI convictions, was also carrying four more unopened cans of suds in a bag.
Gruber apologized when Judge Frank Lubada confronted him with his “liquid lunch.” But Lubada still revoked Gruber’s bail, and sent him straight to the always-sobering slammer.
