September 11th, 2001 is a date that none of us are likely to forget. I remember I was on the air that morning filling in for someone, and the news was hard to believe. All of us around the station were kind of numb with shock just trying to get our heads around the tragedy, and keep it together enough to relay the information on the air.

To this day, every time some 9/11 special airs on television, it's hard not to feel emotional. But honoring those that had their lives cut short on that day is important, and that's why the City of Victoria is hosting a special ceremony tomorrow, on the anniversary of 9/11.

The ceremony will be held at DeLeon Plaza in downtown Victoria beginning at 8am. The Honor Guard will present colors and the National Anthem will be performed by members of the Victoria West High School Choir. City officials including Mayor Will Armstrong and local law enforcement and fire officials will make remarks, and the Police Department will present a gun salute. The Fire Honor Guard will also present The Last Alarm.

Everyone is invited to this special event, and it's a great way to honor those that lost their lives on that fateful day.
