If 'Take Out the Gunman' evokes some particularly violent imagery for you, then you'll likely latch onto Chevelle's lyric video for the track, as well. The band just released the clip so that fans will have some visuals to go along with their rapidly rising single.

The lyrics play over a series of backgrounds, mostly awash in brightened images of sunlight peering through, blood splatter pastels and close-ups of film stock, seemingly going along with the imagery you might expect from someone actually taking out a gunman. In a clever trick, the lyrics literally shake on screen as frontman Pete Loeffler passionately belts out "Gonna take out" repeatedly in the middle of the song.

'Take Out the Gunman is the lead single off of Chevelle's forthcoming album, 'La Gargola,' which is due in stores on April 1. If you like the song, it's currently available via iTunes and Amazon. And it's likely the band will be incorporating it into sets when they hit the road this spring. To see their upcoming tour dates, click here.
