Lance Armstrong has been in the news an awful lot lately, coming out on Oprah about doping during his cycling career, something he always denied in the past. Back in 2001, he even went so far as to use it as a theme in a commercial for Nike.
When the Texas State Highway Department announced that they were raising the speed limit on certain highways to 85 mph, I thought that was very cool, especially since even though I do tend to drive above 70 on the highway, (shhh...don't tell anyone!) but 85 is faster that I usually want to drive. How would you feel about hitting speeds above 200 mph?

Texas legislators have a bill to consider this session-one that would allow liquor sales on Sunday. When I moved here many years ago, I was surprised when I went to buy beer one Sunday and couldn't, mainly because it was allowed every other place I've lived. I was also surprised that you can only buy it up to a certain hour in Texas. In fact, the only other restriction on booze that I've encountered was in North Carolina, where you had to be a member of a private club to buy mixed drinks, unless food made up a major percentage of your business, namely restaurants. Beyond that, many bars could only sell beer and wine, unless they were a private club. But I digress.
It's NFL Conference Championship time again, and again this year, no Texas teams are represented. Congratulations to the Houston Texans who made it to the second round again, this time with starting Quarterback Matt Schaub intact, but who unfortunately couldn't get past the New England Patriots.
The Dallas Cowboys on the other hand, didn't make the playoffs, after another rather mediocre season. Where does the fault lie? Is it Tony Romo? Is it Jason Garrett? Is it Jerry Jones?

I grew up in an are that gets a lot of snow, so I can definitely relate to what these guys have to deal with in the winter time. Thank God we don't have to worry about it here in south Texas. Victoria Crime Stoppers and the Victoria Police Department need help to identify the people responsible for a theft. On November 4th Police responded to an apartment complex on N. Navarro reference to a stolen vehicle. During the night unknown offenders had stolen a white 2008 Ford F-150. Images of a Hispanic female exiting the vehicle were caught on security video at a local gas station. The female is approximately 5’4” tall with long blond hair with dark brown roots.
