Frank Zappa is often regarded as one of the most brilliant, idiosyncratic musicians in rock music. But, looking back at his eclectic, monstrous body of work as a composer, guitarist, vocalist, and bandleader, Zappa really wasn't a "rock" musician. That fact is cemented on 'Lumpy Gravy,' Zappa's first official solo album, which was released 45 years ago today (May 13, 1968).
Adelitas Way are down one key member of their group as the band's guitarist Keith Wallen (pictured at far right in the photo above) has decided to exit the band. Wallen let his exit be known Tuesday (May 7) in a Facebook posting (excerpted by Examiner.com).
As reported last night, As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis pleaded not guilty in his shocking murder-for-hire case. Now, more details have emerged from the May 9 arraignment in San Diego. Video taken of the arraignment depicts Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grasso revealing the alleged details of Lambesis' plot to have his estranged wife killed, which he apparently first mentioned to a member of his gym.

Last August, Baroness were involved in a bus crash that would forever change their lives. Baroness endured one of the scariest moments of 2012 when their tour bus broke through a guardrail while traveling in England and plunged 30 feet into a wooded area below. The bus driver in the incident, Norman Markus, was charged earlier this year with using a vehicle that had defective brakes, breaching the bus' 7.5 ton weight limit and not adhering to sufficient daily and weekly rest periods. He was also charged with not having the correct license entitlement and using a vehicle in a condition likely to cause injury. However, with that laundry list of charges, it's possible that Markus will never have to answer to the courts.
