Everyone wants to have a good time at the movies. After all, that's why we go to the movies. But it seems as if movie manners have taken a turn for the worse in recent years. Blame it on cell phones or the rise of home theaters or just people being all-around selfish, more and more people are complaining about the behavior of their fellow audience members to the point where theater chains are actually considering having special screenings for people who like to talk, text or bring screaming babies to movies.

That's a question we get asked an awful lot in radio. Sometimes you get the call an hour or 3 after the song was played, all and the caller can give us is "it had a guitar intro" , or "you know, it's the song about the guy and the girl and something else about a party." That's when I usually respond with "can you be a little more vague, please?"
Thursday June 14th is World Blood Donor Day. It's a day designated around the globe to encourage people from all nations to donate blood, and our own South Texas Blood & Tissue Center has a number of different blood drives scheduled around Victoria.
Donating blood is something that can easily be taken for granted. A single donation can save multiple lives, and it's something that is a constant need in South Texas. Giving blood is also good for your health. It only takes about 30 minutes, and when your body replenishes it's blood cell supply, it removes iron, which at high levels can contribute to heart disease. Your body also will produce new, stronger, healthy blood cells. You also get a mini physical, which can give you important information about your health. So celebrate World Blood Donor Day at one of the many blood drive locations listed below.
