Newsted will play their first official gigs tonight (April 19) and tomorrow (April 20) at the Red House in Walnut Creek, Calif., and many fans are wondering what to expect from Jason Newsted's new band. The former Metallica bassist re-emerged on the music scene late last fall, revealing his new self-titled group with drummer Jesus Mendez Jr. and guitarist Jessie Farnsworth. Then, just recently, the band added longtime Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, whose group is currently in the midst of a hiatus.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just gained a few more great acts, with Rush, Heart, Donna Summer, Public Enemy and Randy Newman making up the 2013 induction class. The five acts were inducted Thursday night (April 19) in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater with a number of music luminaries doing the honors.
The highly anticipated live return of Black Sabbath this year has finally happened, and unlike last year's handful of shows, there's new material being worked into performances. This is what you call a kick ass lineup! The annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards has just announced some intriguing additions to the show's 2013 event. Danzig have been confirmed to perform at this year's Golden Gods, with former Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein set to join the band for a special guest appearance. Additionally, Gene Simmons, Marilyn Manson, Alice Cooper will grace the awards show along with more of rock's biggest names.
