‘Bond 24′ Coming in 2014, Will Bring Back ‘Skyfall’ Writer

MGM/Columbia

Some of us are lucky enough to have seen ‘Skyfall’ already; indeed, it can safely be said that it earns the hype it’s receiving as one of the best Bond movies ever. Just thrilling entertainment from start to finish. Part of its power stems from a complex, incisive, character-driven screenplay, and it looks like the Bond producers are well aware of that, as they’ve just hired one of the writers back for the next installment.

John Logan, who co-wrote ‘Skyfall’ with series regulars Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, will return for another go-round with Mr. Bond, and has evidently already drafted an outline for the tentatively titled ‘Bond 24′ (obviously). According to Bond fansite MI6, Logan will go it alone on the script. The story is naturally under wraps, reportedly known only to the “core Bond Family” (presumably meaning producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli).

The film is set for a late-2014 release date, returning the Bond movies to the every-other-year schedule they had previously been on.

Logan has been one of Hollywood’s premiere screenwriters for over a decade. His credits include ‘Hugo’, ‘Gladiator’ and ‘The Aviator’. (All of which earned him Academy Award nominations.) His breakout year was 1999, when ‘Any Given Sunday’, ‘RKO 281′ and ‘Bats’ , all of which he wrote, were released. Yes, ‘Bats’.

UPDATE: 'Bond 24' + 'Bond 25' Linked?
