There have been a lot of complaints about 'Star Trek Into Darkness' since the film opened, one of them from female fans who felt that having character Carol Marcus (Alice Eve) strip down to her bra and panties for no apparent reason was sexist. The complaints became too much for 'Star Trek Into Darkness' writer/producer Damon Lindelof who finally admitted the shot was "gratuitous" and "unnecessary."
Do you agree?
It was just a few weeks ago that Sam Mendes officially announced he wouldn't return to direct 'Bond 24' (what's more, he said the mere thought of returning to direct another James Bond film made him "physically ill") but producers aren't wasting any time finding a replacement. But how do you top 'Skyfall' - the biggest Bond film of all-time and a movie that made over $1 billion? You hire 'The Dark Knight' director Christopher Nolan.
'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' (the sequel to 2011's surprise hit 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes') has begun filming in Louisiana and we didn't have to wait long to get our first look at the new ape action. Director Matt Reeves tweeted out the first photo from the set this morning and shows us Caesar and his monkey friends have taken a big evolutionary step forward.
When Megan Fox was cast as April O'Neil in the upcoming 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' reboot, the reaction was...mixed. And by "mixed" we mean, mixed between people hating it and people really hating it. Today, however, we have the first look at Megan Fox in character as April on the 'Ninja Turtles' set and maybe it'll change your mind. Maybe? (Probably not.)
We barely know who the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' villain is (OK, well we pretty much know) - is it possible that at this early stage we've already got a pretty solid idea as to who the 'Star Trek 3' villain will be? Writer/producer Damon Lindelof spoke on the film's red carpet and dropped some information as to who will be facing off against in 'Star Trek 3.'
There's been lots of talk lately of 'Iron Man 3' being the last of the Iron Man movies. And that may very well be a (sad) possibility. But that doesn't mean it's the end of the Iron Man universe. While promoting 'Iron Man 3,' star Don Cheadle talked about the very real chance that we'll see a spinoff War Machine movie in the future. Cheadle even has some very definite ideas on what 'War Machine' would be all about.
'Man of Steel' is a great movie if the early buzz is to be believed. In fact, 'Man of Steel' looks so good that it's inspiring greatness in others. Namely, this fanmade 'Man of Steel' title sequence. It has nothing to do with Zack Snyder's movie but it looks so good you'd swear it actually does. This you gotta see.
At this year Oscars, Seth MacFarlane caused quite a controversy as he hosted the ceremony with a number of risque bits and jokes (most notably the "We Saw Your Boobs" song from the opening monologues) but that was exactly what Oscar producers hoped MacFarlane would bring to the normally staid production. The 'Family Guy' creator previously said he has no interest in returning, the producers seemed to have liked the controversy (and the ratings that went with it) and MacFarlane has officially been invited to return to host the 2014 Oscars.
Native American warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice.
Just days after announcing a leave of absence from writing to deal with a recurrence of cancer, the Chicago Sun-Times reported this afternoon that legendary movie critic Roger Ebert has died.
Just a few minutes ago, we told you about who the villain would be in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' - their next original superhero film. That's not enough for you? You want to know who else will be starring in the film? OK, you win. How about this? Zoe Saldana ('Avatar,' 'Star Trek Into Darkness') will star as Gamora in Marvel's next film.
Do you like Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg cracking jokes with each other while watching them shoot things and blow stuff up? Well then, you're probably gonna love '2 Guns.'
