'Red 2' doesn't even hit theaters until later this summer, but that hasn't stopped Summit from already getting to work on 'Red 3.' That means the studio must have a lot of faith in the second adventure of Bruce Willis and his aging comrades-in-arms, which will attempt to replicate the surprising success of the first film in a few months.
The great Kristen Wiig returned to host SNL this week, giving the show an opportunity to resurrect all of the characters that vanished from show since her departure a year ago. Although many great characters came back, none were quite as exciting as the return of Target Lady, one of the most popular characters in all of modern SNL.
The return of Kristen Wiig to the SNL stage meant the resurrection of several great characters, including the Target Lady, her role on The Californians and, of course, Kat of "Garth and Kat" fame. The world's worst musical duo made an appearance on Weekend Update and it was as funny as it has ever been.
Although SNL is known for frequently pushing the boundaries of good taste, it tends to favor comedy of the sexual and political nature above anything else. That's why a certain sketch on last night's Kristen Wiig-hosted episode proved to be a massive shock -- it's not every day that the longrunning comedy variety show gets violent.
Is there a recurring SNL sketch more divisive than "The Californians"? For everyone who loves it, there is someone else who thinks it's one of the worst things to ever happen to the show. The latest edition won't change any minds, but the return of Kristen Wiig does make it a little more special than the past couple of times they've trotted it out.
No one expected 'The Great Gatsby' to take number one at the box office over 'Iron Man 3' this weekend, but it did the next best thing: it opened huge at number two. There is no shame in this silver medal.
Since it's produced so quickly, SNL will never not take advantage of any holiday that arrives near its air date. That meant that last night's episode saw a handful of mom-themed sketches in honor of Mother's Day! The first of them was a great fake commercial for a flower delivery service starring the terrific Kristen Wiig. Check it out below.
In one of the most bizarre stories of the year so far, the Spanish-language network Univision announced yesterday that it was planning to produce its own version of the hit AMC show 'Breaking Bad.' However, it turns out that the announcement was premature to say the very least. Sony, who produces the the show for AMC, says that no deal is in place at the moment.
Much of the plot of 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' has been kept tightly under wraps, but we do know that the film will feature three iconic Spidey villains. We've seen photos of Jamie Foxx's Electro, we know that Chris Cooper has been cast as Norman "The Green Goblin" Osborn and now, we have our first look at Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich, AKA, The Rhino!
It was revealed today that Universal has agreed to co-finance Seth MacFarlane's upcoming Western comedy, 'A Million Ways to Die in the West,' finally putting the film on the fast track to production. After all, MacFarlane's 'Ted' shattered all expectations at the box office last year, so they'd be foolish not to. Also hidden away in the announcement: Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast, adding another great name to a shockingly solid ensemble.
Ray Harryhausen, who pioneered the world of stop motion effects and changed visual effects in cinema forever, passed away today. He was 92 years old.
A few days ago, a special screening of 'Return of the Jedi' was held at Entertainment Weekly's CapeTown Film Festival and audiences found themselves treated to a special appearance by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. Over the course of two Q&As, the beloved actor spoke about his involvement in 'Star Wars: Episode 7' and the 'Star Wars' franchise as a whole confirming some information we already unofficially knew and revealing a bit more about the new trilogy.
