Dave Swanson is a writer and musician from Cleveland, Ohio. He has spent a lifetime obsessed with all things Rock & Roll.  Dave has written for a variety of publications including Shindig!, Bucketful Of Brains, The Cleveland Scene and The Cleveland Plain Dealer. He hosts his own radio show, has promoted concerts and played in several bands including, but not limited to, Rainy Day Saints, The Chamber Strings, The Cynics, New Salem Witch Hunters, Guided By Voices, Death Of Samantha, and Captain Groovy & His Bubblegum Army.   Favorite bands-Cheap Trick, The Monkees, Sparks, Motorhead, Beach Boys, Rockpile, XTC,Van Der Graaf Generator, Sweet, Bob Dylan,etc. Favortie color- paisley. Sign-Scorpio. Favorite Movies-Love And Death, Don't Look Back & Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls.  Political party-Mod & Rocker. Religion-Rock & Roll. His biggest regret is having no regrets. T. Rex Helps Fiat Lead an Italian Invasion

The commercial for the new Fiat 500L sets itself up all American Revolution style, with a pseudo Paul Revere warning 'the British are coming.' After a second look, he corrects himself...'wait...the Italians are coming,' as he spies a fleet of new Fiat 500s rolling down the road. As the automobiles come into view, the unmistakable sounds of 'Children Of The Revolution,' the 1972 single from T. Rex, is heard charging full volume ahead.

40 Years Ago: Slade Play Two Sold-Out Shows at London’s Earls Court

Slade were just about at the peak of their powers in the summer of 1973, riding high with seven consecutive Top 10 singles in the U.K. The latest, 'Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me,' shot straight to No. 1. When the band hit the road, with openers the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, demand for tickets was so high, they scheduled two nights at the legendary Earls Court in London.

Two Frank Zappa Albums To Be Reissued On Vinyl

The Zappa Family Trust, headed by Frank Zappa's widow Gail, has announced that select titles from the massive Zappa catalog will be finding their way to vinyl this summer. In June, Zappa's Barking Pumpkin label will put out editions of 1973's 'Over-Nite Sensation' and the 1966 classic 'Freak Out!,' joining the recently released 'Finer Moments,' a collection of live material from the early-'70s.

Led Zeppelin ‘Houses of the Holy’ Reel-to-Reel Sells for Big Bucks on eBay

Titles released on reel-to-reel have long been a prize of sorts for collectors -- especially since even in their heyday, they never sold all that well. The format was first introduced in 1949, and had pretty much died out by the early '70s. There were, however, a few random titles still being manufactured at the time, including the fifth Led Zeppelin album, 'Houses of the Holy' -- a copy of which recently sold in an eBay auction for $239.50, with a total of 46 bids coming in.
