AC/DC Says When We Can Expect Their New Album

Neil Young Releases Video for ‘Jesus’ Chariot’ from Upcoming ‘Americana’ Album

Neil Young has just released the second song and video from his ‘Americana‘ album, which will be released June 5. As has been widely reported, the album reunites him with longtime co-conspirators Crazy Horse as they put their unique sound on classic American folk tunes. Here, Young and his pals take on ‘She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain,’ which is renamed ‘Jesus’ Chariot’ on the album.

Trailer For Neil Young’s ‘Journeys’ Released

Sony Classics Pictures has released a trailer for ‘Journeys,’ the Jonathan Demme-directed film which combines footage from Neil Young‘s 2011 solo show at Toronto’s Massey Hall with a road trip up through his native Ontario. The documentary, which premiered at Sundance this past January, will be in theaters June 29.

Rush Meets the Beastie Boys in ‘Pass the Mic, Tom’

The death of Adam “MCA” Yauch on May 4 has gotten all of us to take a trip down the rabbit hole of our favorite Beastie Boys videos. Somewhere between the 70s cop show pastiche of ‘Sabotage‘ and the hormonal silliness of ‘(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (to Party)‘ we found this gem. It’s called ‘Pass the Mic, Tom,’ and it’s a mash-up of the vocals from ‘Pass the Mic’ to the music of Rush‘s ‘Tom Sawyer,’ which was recently named No. 48 on our list of the Top 100 Classic Rock Songs.

T. Rex Provides Soundtrack to Charlie Sheen Bavaria Commercial

Few sounds in rock history define decadence as perfectly as T. Rex‘s 1971 hit ‘Bang a Gong (Get it On).’ So when actor/hedonist Charlie Sheen signed on to appear in Dutch beer company Bavaria’s new commercial, it made sense for them to spring for Marc Bolan’s most famous song.

In the spot, Sheen leaves a rehab center and hops into his car, hoping to never return.

The Twitter feeds of Bruce Springsteen fans exploded with shock tonight (May 2) when fans attending his show at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. reached for their phones to tell the world that he performed the obscurity ‘Bishop Danced.’ Springsteen had not sang the song since an opening slot for Blood, Sweat and Tears at the Berkeley Community Theatre on March 2, 1973.
