Anti-Porn Politician Resigns After Getting Caught Downloading Porn

Getting caught looking at Internet porn can be embarrassing, but it’s rarely a big deal. Unless of course you’re a member of a political party railing against pornography.

An Indonesian member of parliament was caught downloading an X-rated video from the Internet. Mr. Arifinto hastily resigned after his screen was photographed during a parliamentary session. He’d previously spearheaded Indonesia’s 2008 anti-porn bill.

Arifinto’s party, PKS, has been the driving force in anti-pornography legislation. The party has boycotted the nudity-free Playboy Indonesia and pop star Ariel’s alleged sex tape. Moderate Indonesians have criticized these conservative rulings as limiting freedom and expression.

Why is it people who are vehemently opposed to certain things are often found to be secret aficionados of those things?
