Aerosmith Reunites with Producer Jack Douglas for New Album

In a video message, bassist Tom Hamilton broke the news, calling Douglas “the guy who we worked with producing our best albums of the ’70s” and promising, “It’s really going to be cool. [There's] no one who knows more about the soul of this band and the creative heart of this band.”
Douglas, who last worked with the band for their 2004 covers set, ‘Honkin’ on Bobo,’ has his work cut out for him — the last decade has offered more in the way of internal band drama than new music. In fact, Aerosmith hasn’t released an album of new material in a full decade — their last original material surfaced with 2001′s ‘Just Push Play.’
But if anyone can get Aerosmith back on track, it’s Douglas — and Hamilton sounds pleased with the sessions thus far, saying there’s “always laughter going on, and it’s fun, but there is digging deep to get performances that were even better than we thought we could do.” Watch below as Tom Hamilton talks about hooking up with Douglas again.
